The vibes and piano are the heart of our first release – we write either on one instrument or the other; sometimes both at the same time, so there’s a percussive nature to the sound. We exploit the rhythmic nature of both instruments and allow space for each sound to breathe.he essence of the sound is driven by the clarity of the piano – with the spaced out, vibrato and resonance of the vibraphone, except where the really hard mallets are used and then the piano becomes the mellow instrument, suddenly lush against the brightness of the vibes.
